The Shim is made out of a tire. Yes, a bicycle tire, do you think he's stupid or something? Don't worry, I saw this bike again recently and the "handlebars" have been upgraded from copper electrician's tubing to steel track drops. The shim, however, has been replaced with nylon strapping.
